During the meeting at the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce Igor Rainin, the Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration, underlined that the region is one of the leaders of Ukraine in the industrial sector, education, agriculture and innovation. Parties discussed prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation at the level of the regions and Chambers of Commerce, as well as participation at the investment conferences, trade exhibitions and fairs.

At the Columbia University Igor Rainin delivered a speech on the potential of the Kharkiv region, its development as well as the development of Ukraine. A special interest of the audience was paid to challenges facing our country in the context of Russia's military aggression, measures to combat corruption, the results of economic reforms. In his speech Igor Rainin stressed the importance of trust to Ukraine from foreign partners and investors and the good will of the regional authority and the state as a whole to make the appropriate measures and to provide guarantees to protect foreign investments.

 

The delegation also conducted the separate meeting with business companies and investment funds of the United States, during which parties discussed business opportunities in Kharkiv region, commercial proposals of Ukrainian companies, specific areas and projects for economic and investment cooperation. US business representatives stressed that they are ready to cooperate and to provide assistance to Ukrainian side with regard to economic development of our country.

A special interest by US business was paid to the launching of the Kharkiv region representative Office in the USA (Washington DC), which the major activities are aimed to the development of relations between Kharkiv region and United States in various areas of cooperation.
