“I am proud to inform you that we have already achieved the first results of the reforms,” the Head of State noted.

The President told about anti-corruption measures aimed to demonstrate that there will be no immunity for any corrupt officials. The newly established police enjoys trust of over 80% of population. There is a radical reform of the prosecution on the ground. Judicial reform is being introduced in order to restore people’s confidence in fair court and investors’ confidence in the protection of their investments.

The Head of State emphasized that the decentralization reform, which provides for the transfer of a large part of powers from central authorities to the regions will let them define their economic prospects and increase investment attractiveness.

The President has particularly drawn attention to the reform of financial-banking system. In this context, he noted the role of ambitious program of cooperation with IMF and measures on the recovery of the banking system.

Also, tax reform is being implemented. “Discussion on tax rates is being continued. However, it will work to increase the investment attractiveness of the country,” the President said.

The Head of State noted that powerful privatization in the country will become the most transparent and non-corrupt in the history of Ukraine. As an example, the President mentioned the last year’s competition for 3G frequencies.

The President thanked for the support to Ukraine, interest in the prospects of investment and noted the importance of Transatlantic unity, inter alia, unity of businessmen. “We speak the same language, the language of transparency and prospects,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.

The meeting was organized by members of the Business Council for International Understanding. It was attended by representatives of approximately 30 companies and financial institutions.
